    I figured it out, I think. The mod only adds ai bots, human and monsters to multiplayer maps. Adding -steam after the soLauncher.exe and after the final '. Get to 66% and get an error saying could not patch cause process. Check for instances in Task Manager. Just worked out how to do the same so launcher is definitely the issue.     I have not been able to log into the game at all. I keep getting that error message. I can connect to any website, my internet is working just fine, drivers are updated, etc. Whats up?

    BLZ51901001 is a general connection error. Either something could be suddenly blocking the program such as anti-virus/firewall or a possible ISP connection issue. I'd recommend to start troubleshooting this issue with our connection and latency support article Here.
    If the issue continues please reply back with a WinMTR.
    A WinMTR test shows your connection to our servers over time instead of a snap shot, that a pathping or tracert can offer us. This is great at picking up fluctuating connection issues such as your latency spiking up and down or why disconnects are occurring:
    1. Download WinMTR (https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/)
    2. Unzip the file to your desktop
    3. Run the WinMTR
    4. Type the IP under “host”: 12.129.222.10
    5. Click “start” and open the game. Wait until you experience the latency and let the test run for another 10 minutes before clicking “stop”.
    6. Click “Copy text to clipboard” and paste it to your comment. Make sure to post between the code blocks.
    I tried flushing the DNS, it's not on my end. I can play other non blizzard games just fine, my internet connection is perfect. I cant do the winmtr because I can't even log in. I am not the only one having this issue, so it is clearly not on my end.
    Masokisst. This is a common disconnection error. That means anything going wrong with the client's ability to keep a connection to the server will pop this error. All our games are very different from one another. Any help you can provide would help get the issue resolved faster. I understand it can be very frustrating to deal with but we are here to help if you change your mind!

    What occurred when you tried to run the WinMTR program? Note you must right click on it and select, 'Run as Administrator'. If no results show up try to temporarily disable your Windows Firewall.

    Then flush your DNS cache. Finally delete the cache folder in the wow folder.
    I have tried literally every troubleshooting recommendation on forums, recommendations from people who know computers very well and even went as far as uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, restarting my computer, flushing the DNS and changing the DNS to the google server. I don't know what to do and I just paid for 60 days of game time and it won't even let me log on.
    Why do we always have to go through this rigamarole of, 'Check this, dl that, try this, post that.etc' after any/every update patch?
    Can you imagine if you went to get your car fixed and it didn't work, and the mechanic's reply was 'change the carburetor, adjust the points, replace the gasket, replace the gas filter, calibrate the plugs'

    Everyone didn't just suddenly change settings on their computers prior to a patch, or update.
    I myself have no connection probs with any other thing program, browser, game, etc, have gotten a variety of error messages AFTER I had been playing the game fully functional and decided to close it out and ATTEMPTED to restart the game with Launcher.exe (which I only use after updates over WoW.exe, which is a bare bones start up that helps with my already taxed processor).
    So launcher didn't work, spent a full day online checking my drivers and everything else under the sun because Blizzard promotes the notion that after EVERY patch any probs are from the users' end.
    Guess what, that wasn't the case. After nothing else worked I simply tried the bare bones WoW.exe and it worked (some how despite 'connection issues and outdated drivers' all of which I am to believe were valid reasons even if none of that existed) and I managed to play the game all night and day foolishly thinking that if I logged out it would work once again.
    Well, I dont think I need to tell you what followed.
    Point being, every update seems to cause problems for a percentage of users (not always the same users either) and throwing those DIY fixes up in the air and hoping one or more will stick is not a good business strategy if you want to keep paying customers who aren't footing the bill off mom and/or dad's credit card.
    My account gets re-billed on the 21st and I may suspend it indefinitely until the problems are fixed
    I'm getting this same error over and over. Tried flushing DNS cache, deleting WTF and other folders..nothing works. Some assistance would be greatly appreciated, been unable to enter the game for days now. I'll try and run WinMTR when I can but as other people have this problem too I hope someone can fix this or find a solution soon.
    I keep having the same problem as everyone else. I have followed all of the advice posted in the 'Help' and NOTHING is working. I am to the point of just deleting ALL Blizzard games and not looking back. If you can't help us with this problem using simple English (or whatever language we use to talk to you). Then why are you giving advice, not all of us are tech savvy.
    I thought I was the only one having this issue yesterday. I could not get to the US wow forums and kept getting an error, but I was able to go to the EU forums. If I used the WOW launcher I could get in-game, however if I used the game launcher directly I would get that error. I haven't tried this morning, but it seems more like a WOW server problem than a client issue. I even tried using my phone to connect to the US wow forums yesterday (not using wifi) and it could not connect either. I am able to access the US wow forums through my phone today, so I'm going to assume the problem has been fixed.
    After being on the phone with and live chatting with a few blizzard representatives, I'm pretty sure I've tried everything trying to fix this. Tomorrow I'm going to contact my internet service supplier to try and let them know there's packet loss but I'm not sure that will work. Really really hoping for a fix as I've been unable to play on this computer for days now.

    I've seen this issue being posted about for over a month now- and until yesterday I was unaffected. The only way to get around it (when it's happening, sometimes I can get on fine) is to connect to my VPN and use that- but the trick is setting it to a USA ip address as any other Canadian one nets the same error when logging in. It's annoying to say the least. All other Blizzard games are unaffected, which is what makes me think it's less to do with my connection and the CAS system (like how I can't patch anymore without my VPN, it's been like that since the pre-patch for WoD and I have a work around and that IS my connection type) but this seems to be a deeper issue. It also seems to be roaming regional, like the other night it seemed to be mainly Canadians posting and when I tried a US IP address, boom was able to log in np.
    I've had this issue tonight doing Kazzak's and (so far) just re-logging I've been able to get back in, but it seems doing anything in a large group setting is setting off lag spikes of epic proportions, as is going to certain CRZ areas and then after that is when I get hit with this error code.
    I too have tried all the 'trouble shooting' that's been suggested and can't say that any one thing fixed my issues as they still are ongoing. Just wanted to throw my opinion/what's happened to me into the BLZ51901001 hat.

    I tried that but it wouldn't even let me connect that way, says 'WoW could not resolve the address of the network data source'. As of now I'm just borrowing a computer to play wow. I've seen people go so far as to factory reset their computer and it still wasn't fixed, so I'm not willing to go that far yet, really hoping for a fix for this.

    So far so good here, no dc's and some of the lowest latency numbers I've seen in any of my online games.

    So I've had this minor problem after installing World of warcraft to my new computer (using Windows 7). Every time I open wow, 'it's like the first time'. It shows the Cataclysm trailer movie, asks to agree with the same old 'Termination of service without prior notice', resets all options I have changed (graphics, sounds, everything), fails to remember my e-mail-address eventhough I choose that option while logging in AND always goes to this 'Choosing realm'-thing, eventhough I already have active characters on realms. All over again, each time.
    So, this isn't life-changing problem at all, it's easy to put options back to the way you want them, but I wonder if there is a simple solution for this.
    If you have Vista or Windows 7, run WoW as an administrator.

    Omachi’s quite right in her suggestion of running WoW as administrator (best to right-click and select this option on both the Launcher and the game client itself – so Launcher.exe and WoW.exe), as it sounds like currently the permission within your OS are preventing the game from writing the necessary data to your temporary files in order to remember your settings and the fact that you’re already well acquainted with the trailer and the game Terms of Use! ;)
